What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word. It is composed of 2 words, REI - (meaning) Universal and KI - (meaning) Life Force Energy.

Why Japanese Name?
Reiki is originally from India. It was discovered by Gautam Buddha. But it got lost. It was re-discovered in mid 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. That is why the Japanese name. We can call it as the natural energy with which we are surrounded by or the cosmic energy. We are also made up of this same energy, but we need it, at the requied time, we don't have any access to this Universal Energy.

Why do we need this Energy?
We need this energy whenever there is an imbalance in our personal energy. Due to vast changes in the atmosphere every moment, imbalance takes place in our body.
